Side note: The ring thing seems solved - of course I couldn't keep my mouth shut, and we had it out, and I've solved things for now by wearing the rings on a chain (just like when I was pregnant, ah, the memories!).

Summary: Remus Lupin, presumed dead after the war, finds himself in need of rent money. He answers an ad and gets into the business of donating memories, but he soon finds them too dear to part with. So he gets into the business of Severus Snape, instead.

Two news items!

First, celandineb wrote me a Snape/Lupin drabble (Troth, here), which makes me all warm and gooey inside. Thank you so much, Cel!!

Second, as I mentioned on lupin_snape, the latest episode of Snapecast features a panel discussing Snape ships, and I got to be on it representing Snape/Lupin as well as some other rarer Snape pairs. Remus gets a note from Snape... goes over... & sees Fleur in the 'outfit' (those high-heeled boots & some leather) with Snape already collared.

Notes: 250 words. Set during Prisoner of Azkaban, and companion piece to "Six Things Severus Snape Doesn't Know About Remus Lupin." Thanks to innerslytherin for the nudge. :) I was tagged again for that "six things" meme, this time by a_belladonna, and since I like to turn memes into fics, we get this.

1. He knows he is not scared of werewolves, per se, just wary. But Remus has been successfully dealing with a suspicious and wary world for most of his life, and he has become rather good at disarming people.

2. He knows that deep down, he is a creature of habit, and so all Remus has to do is gradually, painstakingly, become a part of that habit.

3. He knows he would rather suffer in silence than ask Remus to leave him alone, because that would require actual conversation.

4. He knows he doesn't really mind conversation, as long as you aren't a complete 'dunderhead.' And sometimes he even forgets who he's talking to, and acts almost... normal.

5. He knows he doesn't understand why Remus wants to talk to him. It is this thought that keeps Remus awake at night.

6. He knows that even after everything that happened at the Shack--both times--after everything, there is still a chance, but Severus' heart will need time to heal.

Under a Waxing Moon, Snape/Lupin, PG-13 - 1880 words - A misplaced prank at Hogwarts, 1976 or so. While Remus waits for Severus on the Hogwarts lawn, Severus struggles with issues of trust.

1. He doesn't know what he's been doing all these years. Nor does he care.

2. He doesn't know how he takes his tea - at least, he didn't, until the blasted werewolf began sitting next to him at practically every meal.

3. He doesn't know what goes on behind that infuriatingly calm smile, but he suspects it has something to do with Black. And if it does, he intends to find out.

4. He doesn't know how far he can push him before Lupin loses his temper. Which is saying something, because he's bloody well been trying.

5. He doesn't know when he became less concerned with catching Lupin in a lie, and more concerned with just catching Lupin - alone - for the illusion that they might one day do more than torment one another.

6. He doesn't know how to do anything but torment; he doesn't know how to back down, or give in . . . or apologize.

So! Thanks to Sarah being gone for an entire MONTH, I have been in serious Remus withdrawal. No, not Sirius-Remus withdr... never mind. Suffice to say I've been writing more Snupin in the past two weeks than ever in my life. Including some short stuff for a challenge.
