I chose the name summerborn because winterborn was taken. Okay, I actually was born in the summer, but winterborn is cooler. That's all right. I'll be a little more true to life and admit that my birthday is in the summer (Northern hemisphere).

It's winter now, though. For some reason, human beings tend to like springtime and the growing season of summer more than they like the dying leaves of autumn, and the bare branches of winter. Why is that? Shorter days and less sunlight means less happiness, but why should the warm sunlight have any effect on our mood?
